Feeling Overwhelmed by the Sea of Equipment Suppliers? We Provide the Map and the Guide.
You’ve reached the critical juncture. The need to launch, scale, or modernize your production line is clear, but the path forward is shrouded in a fog of nearly identical vendor brochures, conflicting technical claims, and uncertain outcomes. How do you choose a partner who will truly see your project through to success, not just sell you a machine and disappear?
At LOCUS Robotics, we believe clarity is the first deliverable. This page outlines our proven, structured 5-phase methodology for executing turnkey packaging line projects. We transform the daunting, open-ended question of «Where do we start?» into a clear, collaborative roadmap with defined milestones, deliverables, and decision points at every step.
Our process is designed to systematically de-risk your investment. We move from deeply understanding your unique product and challenge, through transparent engineering and manufacturing, to final commissioning and long-term support—all with you as an informed partner. We don’t believe in «black box» projects. Explore the phases below to understand how we bring order to complexity and deliver not just equipment, but a guaranteed production outcome.

A Collaborative, Stage-Gated Process for Guaranteed Results
Our methodology is built on transparency and shared accountability. Each phase has a clear goal, a set of deliverables for your review, and a formal approval gate before proceeding. This ensures we are always aligned, budgets are controlled, and the project stays on track.
Discovery & Strategic Definition (Laying the Foundation)
This is the most critical phase. We invest time to become an extension of your team and fully understand the «why» behind your project.
Deep-Dive Workshops: We conduct sessions with your production, R&D, and quality teams to analyze your product’s physical characteristics, target outputs, existing pain points, and growth ambitions.
Facility & Compliance Audit: We review your facility layout, utilities, and define all regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, EX, etc.) that will guide the design.
Deliverable: A Project Definition Charter (PDC), which is a living document outlining the agreed project scope, key performance indicators (KPIs), budget framework, timeline, and all technical specifications. This becomes the single source of truth for the project.
Engineering & Design (Creating the Blueprint)
With the strategy locked, our engineering team translates requirements into precise technical plans.
Conceptual & Detailed Design: We develop 2D/3D line layouts, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for your approval.
Technology Selection & Sourcing Strategy: We specify the exact models of core and auxiliary equipment, detailing what will be built in-house and what will be sourced from our vetted global partners.
Deliverable: A complete Technical Design Package (TDP) including all drawings, a final bill of materials (BOM), and a firm, fixed-price commercial proposal.
Manufacturing & Pre-Integration (Building with Precision)
Execution begins across our manufacturing floor and supply chain.
In-House Fabrication & Assembly: Your custom equipment is machined, welded, and assembled in our factory by our skilled technicians.
Global Procurement & Management: Our supply chain team orders and expedites all ancillary equipment and components.
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Key sections of the line are pre-assembled and tested at our facility. You are invited to witness this testing (in person or remotely), providing a crucial opportunity to verify performance before shipment.
Deliverable: FAT Certification and readiness for shipment.
Installation, Commissioning & Qualification (Bringing the Line to Life)
Our team arrives at your site to transform the delivered components into a running system.
Supervised Installation: Our engineers oversee rigging, placement, and utility connections to ensure perfect alignment.
Cold & Hot Commissioning: We methodically start up subsystems and then the entire integrated line, fine-tuning it with your actual product and packaging.
Validation Support (IQ/OQ/PQ): We execute and document Installation and Operational Qualification protocols. We support your team in executing Performance Qualification to prove the line consistently meets all PDC requirements.
Deliverable: A fully operational, qualified production line and a suite of handover documentation.
Ramp-Up & Sustained Partnership (Ensuring Long-Term Success)
Our commitment continues after the handshake.
Performance Ramp-Up Support: We remain on-site or on-call as you increase speeds and volumes to target KPIs.
Comprehensive Training: We certify your operators, mechanics, and quality staff on operation, maintenance, and changeovers.
Lifecycle Support: We offer service contracts, preventive maintenance plans, and guaranteed spare parts availability to ensure peak performance for years.
Deliverable: Your team’s operational independence and a long-term support agreement.
The Difference is in the Discipline
This phased approach isn’t just a list; it’s a risk-management framework. It provides you with constant visibility, control, and off-ramps at every major milestone. You are never in the dark. The result is predictable outcomes, controlled costs, and a partnership built on trust and shared success.
